These trekking poles are awesome! I have been using them as walking sticks in the woods and they have held up great. They are easy to carry because of how light they are. Initially when I first felt them I didn't think they would be able to handle too much, but I was completely wrong. Don't let the light weight fool you. They are extremely tough and rugged. They fold up nicely and come with a nice little carrying case. The locking systems they have in place seem very strong and again have also held up nicely over my first few times using them. They come with different tips depending on what you are using them for. They are also adjustable height wise so you can tailor them to your liking. The overall look is also nice in my opinion and can go with almost any outfit (I got to have things look nice). All in all, I would recommend these for sure!
Update: The company reached out and sent a replacement -- which has held up well. My initial order may have been a defect. Really glad and hope to support Tac9er for their excellent support.Original Review:One of the poles no longer extended after the first use. The notch is stuck and will not extend. Even for the other pole, it will not stay at the same height and will decrease gradually since the lock is not strong enough. Buyer beware.
I am impressed with these walking sticks! They are light weight, compact, strong and easy to assemble. They come with a carry bag and 3 different attachments for the ends for different conditions. I got them for snow shoeing but might try them out on a hike in the woods.
They seem strange at first being both folding and telescoping but I like them. I plan to use them for wading in rivers but haven't gotten a chance. For just walking around, they are quite nice. I'm surprised at the lightness and they seem reasonably sturdy even when extended. The grips have a good shape and overall feel. The variety of tips seems like it should be good but I pretty much only use the hard tip since it grabs rocks on river bottoms best in my opinion. They are visually attractive and the case is nice too.
I needed tacking poles for greater stability in the steeper trails near my home, and these suit me fine. They are easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, and light to carry. Most important, they hold up as I leverage myself up the trail. I appreciate the comfortable grip, too. While I am not likely to use a couple of the tips--some of the purchase on Buffalo Mountain are precarious enough when they are dry--it's good to have the options should rougher weather call for them. Recommended.
