When I saw the video of how much the guy was able to put into the backpack, my first thought was, "Yeah, right." When the item arrived, I was beyond surprised at just how much I could fit into this backpack. It looks like the perfect hiking backpack for short trips. It's a little large for a one-day trip, so I'd suggest using it for at least a 3-day trip or longer. You'll find that you'll have a lot of space left over. It can easily fit a 15" laptop in the back compartment and you'll be surprised at how large the wet pocket is. I was expecting a small pouch-size, but instead it's almost the entire length of the back compartment. You could easily fit a wet swimsuit and towel in there with room to spare. The middle compartment is a nice size with an interior compartment I found handy to place my passport and cards in. Right now, I'm using it as an emergency pack in case of a natural disaster. I was able to fit three full days worth of clothes and underclothes, nonperishable food, 3 standard sized bottles of water, a small lantern (the size of a soup can), a 15" laptop with power cord, an emergency first aid pack, empty plastic bags, and I've still got room for a lot more. I read some reviews on how the bag was less durable than they wanted it to be, but in my opinion it's fine. It's holding all of my stuff without an issue and I wouldn't be worried about it tearing or ripping. The only downside I saw to it is the chest strap. If you're a woman with a chest larger than a B-cup or a person with some weight, that chest strap is not going to work. It is nice to have the whistle on there, though. Overall, it's a great backpack and I'm glad I purchased it.
Bought multiple packs to try at Disneyland this spring. First day I loaded this one up with 2-liters of water, snacks, camcorder equipment, light jacket, GoPro equipment. Room to spare but not too bulky. Wanted to capture every moment with my grand-daughters and have space for those special souvenirs that just "had to be bought now".With the additional straps this snugged down great so taking the pack on and off for each ride/attraction was simple. It was dragged, dropped, pulled on, snagged, smashed, and jerked and held up like new. I loved the waterproof pocket on the inside which though designed to store we stuff, was a lifesaver for protecting sensitive items during rides that tend to splash a lot of water all over the rider :-)I did not even try the other packs and used this one the entire week. When done it folded up into its special self-contained pouch and went back into my suitcase taking up very little space.A great pack that will become a standard day pack going forward. Absolutely love it.
Yes buy this bag! I had a packable backpack about 8 years ago and after 1 use it died so I have been super hesitant to give these kind of bags a try again. Boy am I glad I did. I bought this just days before a trip to Hawaii. It worked perfectly! Hiking, boating, walking around. I really really love it. Got tons of compliments too. I kinda love backpacks and luggage and am super picky. Deep water bottle pockets held a 36oz Nalgene no problem. This is one of my bag requirements. It also folds up pretty easy and has a waterproof compartment. It did have 1 about 1 inch manufacturer defect in the sewing near the bottom by one of the water bottle pockets. I still give 5 stars because all of the stitching around it was still good and it took me all of 3 mins to hand sew it and no problems. So yes I like this bag. Mine is the green and it's a great color.
This backpack was a great purchase. The 40L was large enough to hold everything we needed for a day long excursion off of a cruise ship. It is lightweight, but stays on your shoulders securely. It folds down and stores as a small pouch. I recommend this purchase.
I used this thing for a trip to Disney. It was also used as my carryon while flying. Normally backpacks tend to her my shoulders and back after a while but for whatever reason, I managed to survive for hours at a time while carrying this bag. I was also able to fit everything I needed inside without any issues and could easily fit more inside. The best part is that it can be folded up and stored when it’s not being used.
